WORKSHOPS
Each year, January through May I am running ski specific workshops or courses on:
- alpine skiing
- ski touring and ski mountaineering
- winter safety
The levels covered are introductory, intermediate and advanced. Usually the backcountry ski workshops and the winter safety seminars run over 3 intensive full days (most commonly Friday-Saturday-Sunday). The alpine ski courses run on hourly or daily basis.
The ratio instructor:students is 1:6
The backcountry ski and winter safety workshops take place usually in the Western Alps, Austrian Alps, the Carpathians (Fagaras or Retezat Mountains) but other locations are possible based on your needs and availability.
The alpine ski courses are taking place in the following resorts: Suior, Cavnic, Baisoara, Buscat (both hourly and daily courses) and Bukovel (Ukraine) for daily courses only.
During booking the students are dutifully informed about:
- the schedule of the workshop
- the prerequisites for the course
- any necessary prior specific training and
- the necessary equipment.
I am always providing all the group technical equipment (ropes, protections, slings where necessary) and usually I may be able to help supplementing your personal equipment where lacking (especially with avalanche beacons, probes and shovels). I do not rent skis and ski boots.
Upon request I am able to provide custom-designed courses or coaching based on your particular location, duration, interests and goals.
PRIVATE GUIDING
I am also available for private guiding of selected routes. For all private guiding that involves any extended rope-work the ratio guide:guests is 1:4 and for ski tours that do not involve rope-work the ratio is max 1:8.
